Spa Party Saturday - Egyptian Bath

It's a Saturday night in summer, AKA the best time of the year. Before you hit the town take a cue from the worlds most notorious temptress, the historically glamorous, Cleopatra. Aside form her extracurricular activities, if you will, Cleopatra was known for her luxurious beauty rituals. This is one of  my favorites and while oozing with luxury, will only cost you a couple of dollars.

The Egyptian Milk Bath

What you will need:
1/2 c honey
(You can add more if you are very dry.)
3 c full cream powdered milk

You can also add a few drops of essential oils. I like vanilla or frankincense depending on my mood. Simply dissolve these ingredients in a warm bath and soak!

Does this really work or am I soaking in a giant cup of tea?

Yes! Milk baths really work. That's why they have been around since the ancient Egyptians! Milk contains a chemical compound called lactic acid, which happens to be one of those amazing AHAs you've been hearing about. It's gently sloughs away dead skin cells, and can even be used for those with more sensitive skin.

What about honey? How can something so sweet be good for your skin? Believe or not honey is antibacterial and full of antioxidants. It's also extremely moisturizing and a great treatment for dry skin. Just don't get carried away...or you'll be more sticky than a seductress.

Now go get yourself a Marc Anthony,
M
